Ty Richards was dubbed KUTX Austin’s “Artist of the Month” for SXSW. USA Today said his debut ‘Zillion’ is the “#4 college album in the US”. Richards was picked up on over 120 radio stations across North America and licensed on Showtime’s hit show Shameless.
They call him “Beck Zeppelin” and describe his music as trippy and addictive. “If Queens of the Stone Age and DEVO made a baby,” one fan said.
Ty Richards is an Austin-based multi-instrumentalist known for writing, performing, producing, recording, and mixing his own music. He has an affinity for old school Nintendo games, reel-to-reel tape, vintage Sci-Fi, and analog synthesizers. Richards has a satirical and stream-of-consciousness style of writing.
He has six children, runs an indie label Tremolo Records and releases his own vinyl, CD and digital music independently here.
